Founder, TillJotter

Hi, I'm Ola. I built TillJotter because I needed it.

My family runs Monmu & Monje, a small food and catering business. Like most businesses, the bookkeeping was a shoebox problem: receipts everywhere, a bank statement nobody wanted to open, and a genuine uncertainty about whether the numbers we'd eventually hand an accountant were right.

The existing tools didn't fit. The big ones are built for people who already understand accounting. They ask you to pick between things like "accounts receivable" and "undeposited funds" without ever explaining what either means. The simple ones aren't real bookkeeping; they hand you a pretty chart and nothing an accountant can actually use at tax time.

So TillJotter does proper double-entry bookkeeping underneath, the kind that always balances and that a CPA recognizes, while speaking plain English on the surface. It tells you "you have $2,450 in checking" rather than "1010 debit balance." You shouldn't need an accounting background to know whether your own business made money last month.

I run our own books on it every month. When something is broken or confusing, I feel it before you do, and I fix it. You can see what I've been working on in the changelog.

If you have a question, a problem, or something that would make this more useful for your business, write to me. It reaches me directly.
